Person seriously injured in Dartmoor crash as drivers urged to avoid area
A driver has been left seriously injured following a crash on a major Dartmoor[1] A-road. The A386 is shut both ways at Mary Tavy near Tavistock[2] due to the collision involving a car and lorry. Emergency services rushed to the incident at around 11.20am today (December 14) near The Dartmoor Inn.
Police say the driver of the car is believed to be seriously injured. In a full statement, a spokesperson for the force said: “Police were notified at around 11.20am on Thursday December 14 to reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on the A386 at Mary Tavy, Tavistock. The driver of the car is believed to be seriously injured.”
Devon County Council[3] (DCC) is urging drivers to find an alternative route. They said: “The A386 is closed both ways due to an RTC. The closure is from The Coach Garage (Mary Tavy) and The Dartmoor Inn (Lydford).
Please find an alternative route, diversions are being set up.”
