Pickup truck stolen from driveway in south-end Barrie
Barrie police say a couple of thiefs were captured on home surveillance stealing a pickup truck from the owner’s driveway early Tuesday morning. The homeowner, who lives in the area of Mapleton Avenue and Silver Maple Crescent in the city’s south end, awoke Dec.
12 only to discover that his pickup truck had been stolen overnight. “From the police investigation that followed, the homeowner was able, through accessing a home video surveillance system, confirm that the two suspects responsible for the theft arrived at the home just after 4 a.m. and within 15-minutes were able to gain access to the truck and drive away with it,” police stated in a news release.
The stolen truck is a black 2022 Ram Rebel with black running boards, a black Tonneau cover and ghost Rebel decals on the rear sides of the bed and on the hood. The suspects captured on video surveillance are described as both being white males. They were wearing light-coloured jackets and running shoes.
Police say one of the suspects had a light-coloured sweater with the hood up and the other was wearing a dark-coloured sweater with the hood up.
