Pictures show M5 chaos near Exeter after lorry overturns
Pictures show massive traffic queues on the M5 near Exeter today (December 20) following a lorry crash. The southbound side of the motorway is shut between Junction 27 and Junction 29 after the large vehicle overturned and blocked all three lanes.[1] Officers rushed to the collision shortly before 8am.
Police say the road is likely to remain shut for ‘some time’. National Highways South West says drivers stuck in traffic queues are being turned around. In a statement on X – formerly Twitter – a spokesperson said: “Traffic caught within the M5 south closure between J28 & J29 will be turned around and released via the rear of the queue.
“Please remain in your vehicle and await instructions from Traffic Officers or Police. Please be aware it will take some time to release all traffic.” Click HERE[2] to keep up to date with all of the latest on this incident.
