Plymouth woman will transform your home and make it look stunning
A Plymouth woman with an eye for design offers a bespoke service that will change your living space into a beautiful home Our homes reflect our personalities, but sometimes our living space can get messy and cluttered. Well, if you’ve ever wished your home could look streamlined with a unique vibe that captures your personality, one Plymouth woman has made it her mission to transform your abode or even your business premises.
Leaving her job in the NHS to follow her creative passion, Abbie Downey set up her business, Feather & Fossil in June 2022. The 33-year-old specialises in interior design and wants to make her service accessible to people across Devon and Cornwall. Using her natural eye for design to create a ‘more is more’ Maximalist approach to interiors, Abbie’s transformative designs range from colour drenching a full room to adding texture, pattern and accessories to a space.
Abbie said: “I think people can often be afraid of the idea of interior design or assume that it’s something that isn’t for them, but I want to showcase how interior design can be a reflection of a personality and how it can be fun and enjoyable for everyone.” The 33-year-old focuses on incorporating the old with the new in period properties to create a space that tells a story. But Abbie will also work in suitable storage solutions for practical modern day life alongside enhancing the older features in a room.
She said: “I want to show people how we can embrace the old and combine it with the new to create a really successful space to live or work in. We are so lucky in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall, to have wonderful old buildings. They offer uniqueness and history and a story and they should be sympathetically celebrated when it comes to interior design.
“People want to show off all of their beautiful art or photography but don’t know how to display it in one cohesive space.
People have wonderful accessories that tell stories about their lives over the years, but have them hidden away in boxes.”
