Police appeal to find 11 wanted people in Cumbria this winter

The public appeal has been launched as part of ongoing action across the county to progress investigations with the aim of ensuring those who commit crimes are brought to justice. The people wanted are:

  • Chantelle McAvoy: The 42-year-old is wanted for failing to appear at court when charged with criminal damage. She has links to the Whitehaven area.
  • Colin Cardwell: The 27-year-old is wanted for recall to prison.

    He has links to the Millom[1] area.

  • Damien Evans: The 30-year-old is wanted is wanted in connection with an incident of assault. He has links to the Cleator Moor area.
  • Connor McGroary: The 22-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of witness intimidation. He has links to north and west Cumbria.
  • Dean Armstrong: The 43-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of criminal damage.

    He has links to the Kendal area.

  • Reece Troy: The 19-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of GBH. He has links to the Penrith area.
  • Andrew Thompson: The 45-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of theft. He has links to the Barrow[2] and Lindal-in-Furness areas.
  • Terrance McGinley: The 42-year-old is wanted for failing to appear at court when charged with fraud.

    He has links to the Carlisle area.

  • Daniel Brennan: The 36-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of dangerous driving and failing to stop. He has links to the Carlisle area.
  • Daniel Kavanagh: The 30-year-old is wanted in connection with a conspiracy to supply controlled substances. He has links to the Carlisle area.
  • Adam Roper: The 38-year-old is wanted in connection with an incident of ABH.

After launching the appeal on Wednesday afternoon police confirmed one of the wanted people, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of fraud. Detective Superintendent James Yallop, of Cumbria Constabulary, said: “Each day, our officers and staff ensure those who are wanted in connection with offences are identified and located so we can progress investigations. “Public information has, and always will be important in assisting our work to ensure we secure justice for victims.

“People in Cumbria know where these individuals are. I would ask them to help us, and help keep our communities safe this Christmas.” Gary Murray, regional manager at Crimestoppers said: “The images of the 12 Wanted individuals will be on the ‘Most Wanted’ section of our website which is visited by thousands of people each week.
