Police appealing for e-scooter crash witnesses after woman suddenly dies week after Aberdeen collision
An investigation has been launched into the “unexplained” death of a woman who died a week after a crash on her e-scooter.
Police Scotland said it is “unclear at this stage” whether the one-vehicle collision and any injuries the woman sustained contributed to her death but is appealing for witnesses to come forward while inquiries continue. The force said the 43-year-old woman crashed while riding her black e-scooter on Whitemyres Avenue, Aberdeen, at around 5.20pm on Monday 20 November. Officers were then called to her sudden death at a property in the city’s Mastrick Close at around 2.20pm on Monday 27 November.
The woman’s death is currently being treated as “unexplained”. Sergeant Peter Henderson said: “While it is unclear at this stage whether the collision and any injuries the woman sustained contributed to her death, it is important that we establish the full circumstances of what happened. “I am appealing for anyone who was in Whitemyres Avenue around 5.20pm on Monday 20 November and may have seen a woman riding a black e-scooter to please come forward.
“In particular I would urge any motorists with dashcams who were on the road to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries.”
