Police arrest 4 men from Michigan after an assault outside a nightclub in downtown Windsor

(Dan Taekema/CBC – image credit) Four Michigan men — all 20-year-old — have been arrested after an assault in the city’s downtown over the weekend, Windsor police say. Officers were called to the intersection of University Avenue and Ouellette Avenue around 3 a.m. on Sunday for a report of an assault.

When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old man lying on the ground in an unconscious state, police said in a news release on Tuesday. Police said they subsequently learned that the victim was assaulted by four suspects outside a nightclub. The victim was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, but they were tracked to a nearby hotel in the 200 block of Dougall Avenue. The four have been charged with assault causing bodily harm. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext.
