Police called to car crash on A338 near Ashley Heath

Emergency services were called to the two-car crash on the A338 near Ashley Heath shortly after 5pm on Thursday. Police attended, alongside the ambulance service with three double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer. A total of four people were taken to Poole Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was temporarily blocked by the incident, causing long delays for motorists. A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 5.15pm on Thursday, December 28 to a road traffic incident on the A338, near Ashley Heath. “We sent three double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer.

We conveyed four patients by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.” A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 5.14pm on Thursday, December 28, Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A338 in Bournemouth close to the Ashley Heath roundabout. “The road was temporarily blocked.

Officers and ambulance crews were in attendance.

Minor injuries were reported.”
