Police car crashes on way to emergency on East Lancs Road
A police car was involved in a crash on the way to an emergency this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on East Lancashire Road[1] in Kirkby[2] at around 7.55am on Friday, December 29. The incident involved a police car, which was responding to an emergency, and a Skoda.
Merseyside Police[3] said thankfully no serious injuries were reported. Photos taken at the scene show a cordon in place at the junction of Moorgate Road. A video shows a car being recovered onto the back of a van.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported heavy traffic in the area following the crash, from South Boundary Road to Ribblers Lane. The road closure will remain in place while the incident is dealt with, police said.
