Police close road after incident in Neath Port Talbot

One person was taken to hospital after a crash in Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot on Boxing Day afternoon, ambulance staff confirmed. A stretch of the B4286 remained closed throughout the evening following the incident. Local residents reported a heavy police presence near Bryn village, with one motorist passing through the area reporting that at least four police cars were in attendance at the scene.

In a statement from the Welsh Ambulance Service, paramedics confirmed they attended the scene, alongside the Air Ambulance, and added that one person was taken to hospital by road. A spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.48pm to a road traffic accident in Cwmavon. We sent one emergency ambulance to the scene, where the crew were supported by Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service colleagues in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter.
