Police give update on crash between ambulance and car on Winwick Road

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, involving an ambulance, which had activated its emergency equipment, and a Land Rover.
Cheshire Police has today confirmed that no patients were in the ambulance at the time of the incident, and that no serious injuries were reported. The accident caused travel disruption in the area, with motorists facing queues and delays. A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 3.32pm on Tuesday, December 5, police were called to reports of a collision on Winwick Road, Warrington.
“The collision involved an ambulance driving on blue lights and a Land Rover. “There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the incident. “There were no reports of any serious injuries, and all the vehicles were recovered by 5.45pm.”
Two fire engines also attended the incident from Warrington and Penketh fire stations. A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “Crews attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles. “One casualty had to be released and was handed over to the care of the ambulance service.
“Firefighters made both vehicles safe before leaving the scene.”
