Police investigate after 58-year-old man punched and spat on in terrifying incident on bus in Chester

Police are investigating after a 58-year-old man was punched and spat on during a bus journey in Chester[1]. The victim was travelling on the number 16 bus going from Chester to Saltney[2] when the terrifying incident happened. Officers are now appealing for information as part of their investigation into the incident.

It took place at around 6.45pm on Monday, November 20. Cheshire Police say the bus was travelling along Cliveden Road when the victim was attacked. He was said to have been punched by an unknown man who then also spat on him.

There were a number of other people on the bus at the time who will have witnessed the incident and I would urge them to come forward so we can fully understand the circumstances of what took place. “I would urge anyone with information about this incident, but has not yet spoken to police, to contact us on 101.” Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us[5] quoting IML-1695666.
