Police issue update after crash leaves woman and children in hospital

Merseyside Police were called to Hoole Road in Woodchurch at around 5pm on Monday, December 18, following reports of a two-car crash. Emergency services attended the scene where they found a red Ford Fiesta, with two people inside, and a white Hyundai i10, with four people inside, had collided. A spokesperson for the force confirmed that Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and cut a woman from the Hyundai.

Merseyside Police has since given an update following the incident. A spokesperson from the force confirmed that one of the children’s injuries, which were initially reported as being serious, were later assessed as minor, and the woman did not require any further treatment. They also confirmed the woman is aged 39 and the children are all aged under 10.

A 22-year-old man from Upton has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
