Police name 22-year-old who died in crash between car and lorry
Police have named a man who died following a crash between a car and a lorry in South Lanarkshire on Thursday. Blane Rundell, from Lanarkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision just after 8am on B7078, north of the Kerse Roundabout on Carlisle Road in Lesmahagow. The 22-year-old driving a red Suzuki Alto car when it collided with a HGV.
A 20-year-old man, who was not injured, was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence. Sergeant Chris McColm, of the Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Blane’s family at this very difficult time. “We are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who may have information which has not yet been passed to police to get in touch.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0524 of December 7.”
