Dec 03, 2023, 11:15amUpdated 44m ago By: News 12 Staff Authorities are investigating a recent string of robberies at 7-Eleven stores and gas stations across Long Island.

Police say they responded to a robbery at 7-Eleven on Merrick Road in Amityville shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The store manager told News 12 that a man wearing a mask and hood entered the business, pointed a gun at the cashier, jumped the counter and took £900 from the register before fleeing in a dark-colored sedan.

Authorities say a similar incident occurred less than an hour earlier at Bolla Market and gas station on Ronkonkoma Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma. Suffolk County police confirm to News 12 that they are investigating the possibility that the two robberies are connected. Nassau County police say there was a possible armed robbery at the Bolla Market and gas station on Merrick Road in Massapequa.

Nassau County police have not confirmed if either of the robberies in Suffolk are connected to the possible armed robbery in Massapequa.

It is currently unclear if any arrests have been made in any of the reported robberies.
