Police shut flat after tenant ‘exploited’

Police closure notice outside flat

Police obtained orders to shut the Lincoln Road flat until February 2024 A city centre flat has been shut down after complaints of anti-social behaviour. Cambridgeshire Police successfully received orders to partially shut 25A Lincoln Road in Peterborough until February 2024, after concerns of drug dealing.

The force – and partner agencies – were also told the tenant of the flat was “being exploited”. A breach of the closure order can result in a fine, the police said. PC Tom Maltby, from Peterborough city centre neighbourhood policing team, said: “Concerns were brought to our attention about the tenant being exploited and others taking over his home, which was then affecting the local community and businesses in the area.”
