Police update on shooting at ex-Premier League player’s house
A year has passed since armed police were called to Fitzroy Simpson's home in Stratton on December, 13, 2022, following reports of a gunman firing at the property. The ex-footballer played in the Premier League for Manchester City from 1992-1995 and represented Jamaica internationally before retiring in 2008. A police helicopter and dog unit were deployed, but no suspect was located and the gunman appeared to have fled the scene.

The location of the suspect and the weapon used remain a mystery.
"Following a thorough investigation including extensive CCTV, house-to-house and forensic enquiries, this has been closed with no further action under outcome 18," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
"Should more information come to light then we will reopen the case."
