Powys: Man arrested for drug alcohol offence after crash
The single-vehicle collision happened outside the former Sainsbury’s store in Jehu Road at around 1.30am this morning (Friday, December 8) which resulted in a lamppost being damaged. Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police were called to a single vehicle non-injury collision on Brook Street, Welshpool, at 1.30am on Friday, December 8. “The caller reported a driver had collided with a lamppost.

“Jehu Road remains closed while the local authority repairs an electrical pole.”
The one-way street had been closed due to accident investigation work from High Street to Brook Street, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
