Police and an ambulance were called to the scene and one person was taken to Great Western Hospital with injuries. The driver involved in the crash, a woman in her 20s, was arrested by the police on suspicion of drink driving.

The road reopened in time for the rush-hour traffic. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have arrested a woman following an RTC in Queens Drive, Swindon[1], at around 5.30am this morning. “The woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“The road was briefly closed and has since reopened.” A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 5,25am on Wednesday, December 20 to a road traffic incident on Queens Drive, Swindon. “We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.”
