The car which crashed into a wall during the early hours of this morning (Sunday). (Image: Contributed) POLICE on the Isle of Wight are investigating a crash which left a car wrecked after it smashed into a garden wall during the early hours. SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PHOTOS

The crash happened this morning (Sunday) on Leeson Road, Upper Bonchurch, Ventnor.

Isle of Wight County Press: The car smashed into a stone wall of a front garden and ended up coming to a stop on the other side of the road. Police were called to the incident at 3.20am.

The driver sustained minor injuries, a police spokesperson said. Debris from the collision was left strewn across the road and pavement. The vehicle is a complete write-off.

Police have closed the road temporarily while they investigate and have the area cleared.
