‘Santa Claus’ removed from Scunthorpe pub following ‘inappropriate’ behaviour towards staff on Christmas Day

A man dressed up as Santa Claus was removed from a Scunthorpe[1] pub on Christmas Day following “inappropriate behaviour” towards staff at the establishment as diners eating their Christmas dinners looked on. Officers from Humberside Police[2] attended the Old Farmhouse pub on Doncaster Road on Monday after staff had asked a man dressed in a Santa costume to leave the premises, which he reportedly refused to do. Video footage taken inside the pub by a fellow customer shows the man being handcuffed by officers before he was escorted out of the establishment.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “On Monday 25 December officers were in attendance at the Old Farmhouse Pub in Scunthorpe following reports of a customer behaving inappropriately towards staff.

“The man had been asked to leave by staff and having reportedly refused, officers attended and removed him from the establishment.”
