Schoolboy, 11, rushed to hospital after ‘serious crash’ closes road

AN 11-YEAR-old boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car. Emergency services[1] were called to the scene on King Street on Stenhousemuir, near Falkirk[2], on Friday.

The collision involved a black Vauxhall Astra and a child around 4.20pm. The 11-year-old boy was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital[3], in Larbert for treatment.

His condition remains unknown. The driver of the black Vauxhall was uninjured. King Street was closed until around 5pm to allow for investigations into the collision to take place.

Police[4] are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to talk to anyone who may have CCTV footage or dashcam footage to speak to officers. Anyone with information can contact the police on 101 quoting reference number 2380 of 29 December.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened. “We are also particularly keen to trace any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time it occurred.
