Scores of residents evacuated as Glasgow street locked down following emergency incident
A GLASGOW street was flung into chaos yesterday following a horror gas leak. Scores of panic-stricken residents were ordered to leave their homes after cops evacuated the city’s busy Pollokshaws Road.

Emergency services[1] rushed to the scene just before 4pm yesterday with Scottish Gas Networks chiefs also in attendance. The area is still locked down with blue and white Police Scotland[2] tape guarding the scene.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 3.55pm on Monday 11 December police received a report of a gas leak within a property in Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow[3]. “Emergency services are in attendance while Scottish Gas Networks work to resolve the issue.
“Approximately 40 residents in surrounding properties have been evacuated as a precaution and were provided with emergency accommodation overnight. “A cordon remains in place and there are no road closures.”
