Scottish pensioner who died in tragic A1 crash with lorry named by police

A pensioner[1] who died following a crash on the A1 in the Scottish Borders has been named. Julia Brown, 80, from Eyemouth died following the crash on Saturday morning. The collision happened around 9am on December 16, south of Burnmouth and involved a grey Vauxhall Viva and a white MAN articulated lorry.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.[2] The road was closed and reopened at around 2.45pm.

Sergeant Colin Morrison said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Julia at this difficult time. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to please get in touch.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have any dashcam footage which could assist us to make contact.”

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1124 of Saturday, December 16, 2023.”
