Security expert IMOU launches Bullet 3 and Cruise 2 AI-enhanced cameras
One of the biggest names in smart household security has just launched two new cameras that are packed with hi-tech features yet are affordable at the same time. Starting off wih the Bullet 3, the camera is available in 2K and 3K resolutions, with both rich in features, offering night vision, AI technology, and are equipped with a siren and two-way communication capabilities. Meanwhile, the Cruiser 2 is IMOU’s first full-colour smart pan and tilt outdoor camera, equipped with the latest self-developed algorithms and powerful AI for more accurate and timely detection.
This, together with its elegant appearance and the option for either a 3MP or 5MP resolution version, provides an unparalleled smart security experience
Bullet 3 2K (GBP49.99[1]) 3K (GBP59.99[2]) Perfect for remote home monitoring, the Bullet 3 is available in 2K and 3K resolutions. Both options are rich in features, offering night vision, AI technology, and are equipped with a siren and two-way communication capabilities.
Providing two different camera pixel options (2K and 3K), both options of the Bullet 3 provide high-quality and clear images. The 2K version of the Bullet 3 delivers 3MP live monitoring with a choice of 2.8mm/3.6mm lens options, while the 3K delivers 5MP live monitoring with the same lens options. Ensuring that the house is protected at all times of day and night, the camera features various smart night vision modes that can be adjusted according to the user’s needs.
Whether wanting the night vision to be in full colour at all times thanks to the built-in spotlights, to turn on only when there is an event to save energy or using the infrared mode, images and clips will always be captured with real clarity. The following modes are included:
- Smart Mode: The camera will automatically turn into colour mode from infrared mode when suspicious motion is detected
- Full-colour mode: Thanks to the built-in spotlights, the night vision is now turned up and in full colour
- Infrared Mode: Advanced IR algorithm provides clear black-and-white pictures even in darkness
- Off Mode: Turn off all night vision modes – infrared and spotlights are turned off
In addition to night mode, the Bullet 3 also includes accurate AI Human and Vehicle Detection that is powered by the IMOU Sense precision Al, which is a self-developed Al algorithm that enables the Bullet 3 to deliver detection results to users in a mere 0.02 seconds. This allows the newly upgraded Al human and vehicle detection to effectively reduce false alarms caused by things such as insects and trees shaking.
The effective detection range can reach 22 meters for people and 44 meters for cars, respectively ensuring that detection is truly accurate. In the event of an unwelcome intruder being detected, the Bullet 3 features an integrated siren that activates to assist in deterring them. Designed to allow users to protect their home according to their own individual preferences, customisable detection zones can be set up to ensure that key areas of the house are covered.
Furthermore, users have the option to customise the alarm sound and create schedules, making it simple to connect to the camera remotely from anywhere. The camera also features two-way talk options thanks to its built-in speaker, and a microphone with echo cancellation features to allow users to interact with visitors, family or pets from their phones. The Bullet 3 supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard with higher data transfer rates and improved wall penetration, providing greater connectivity range compared to older generation cameras.
It also supports PoE (Power Over Ethernet) connectivity, should users prefer to connect via cable instead. Also featuring an IP67 water-resistance rating, users have peace of mind that the device is protected from harsh weather[3] such as rain or windblown dirt, keeping users safe at all times. For storage of video clips, there are 3 options for users to choose from.
Recorded videos can be stored in the cloud, with the data strictly encrypted through the whole process, so footage can be saved even if the camera is stolen or smashed. Users can also use an SD card or NVR to store videos, and the camera supports an SD card up to 256 GB, with up to 24 hours of continuous video recording and local saving available. Once the storage is full, the old recordings will be overwritten with new ones.
Cruiser 2 2K (GBP69.99[4]) 3K (GBP89.99[5])
IMOU’s first full-colour smart pan and tilt outdoor camera, equipped with IMOU Sense technology, features the latest self-developed algorithms and powerful AI for more accurate and timely detection. This, together with its elegant appearance and the option for either a 3MP or 5MP resolution version, provides a smart security experience. The Cruiser 2 is designed to give a full Panoramic view with 360?
Smart Tracking to ensure every part of the house is covered and protected. With its two pan and tilt angles, the camera can rotate 340? horizontally and the vertical pan & tilt rotates 90?. It can track the movements of people and vehicles automatically to ensure security and peace of mind, or the rotation of the lens can be remotely controlled for a panorama view.
Thanks to its built-in Hi-fi microphone and high resolution, the Cruiser 2 delivers clear two-way video communication that can be turned on through one button on Imou Life App. This enables users to be able to communicate with anyone who is at their home. In order to enhance AI performances and user experience, IMOU Sense uses its own improved algorithms so detection accuracy, speed and robust level are all improved.
As an outdoor camera, the Cruiser 2 can detect humans and vehicles easily with a recognition accuracy of 99%. The Cruiser 2 includes a CMOS image sensor and a F1.6 large aperture and optical lens. With 3MP and 5MP resolutions, it presents crisp and clear image quality so that everything can be captured.
Performing even in low light conditions, the camera has different night vision modes that can be adjusted, whether wanting night vision to remain in full colour all the time or to turn on full colour only when there is an event to save energy. These modes are:
- Smart Mode: The camera will automatically turn into colour mode from infrared mode when suspicious motion is detected.
- Full-color mode: Thanks to the built-in spotlights, the night vision is now turned up and in full colour.
- Infrared Mode: Advanced IR algorithm provides clear black-and-white pictures even in darkness.
- Off Mode: Turn off all night vision modes infrared and spotlights are turned off.
Another feature on the camera is the Active Deterrence and Customisable Alert Tone. When the active deterrence mode is turned on, if a moving object appears in the detection area, the camera will automatically trigger a high-decibel alarm sound, and at the same time push a notification to the mobile App.
In addition to the traditional alarm tone, users can customize it using DIY alert tones based on their requirements depending on the actual scenarios. With IP66 water-resistance, the Cruiser 2 is able to survive dust penetration and can handle rain and wind, ensuring safety around the clock. The camera also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standards for increased data transfer speeds and better wall penetration for a wider security range.
There are 3 options for users to choose from for the storage of video clips. For cloud storage, the recorded videos are stored in the cloud, with the data strictly encrypted through the whole process, so video footage can be saved even if the camera is stolen or smashed. Users can also use an SD card and NVR to store videos and the camera supports an SD card up to 256 GB and 24 hours of continuous video recording and local saving.
Once the storage is full, the old recordings will be covered with new ones.
Cruiser 2 also supports the Onvif protocol which enables it’s compatible with most of the mainstream NVR.
