Serious M42 live crash updates after cyclist hit by lorry

A ‘serious’ crash involving a lorry and a cyclist has brought part of the M42 to a standstill this evening, December 13. The crash took place on the M42 roundabout at junction 10, which serves Tamworth.[1][2] As a result, a slip road is closed and there are long delays on that part of the road network.

Live traffic systems show traffic is snarled up for miles on the M42. The injuries of those involved is currently not known, but we have contacted West Midlands Ambulance about this incident. We will bring you updates as soon as we have them.

A spokesperson for National Highways West Midlands said: “Emergency services are dealing with a serious collision involving a lorry and a cyclist on the M42 J10 (Tamworth) roundabout. “The southbound exit slip road is closed. There are long delays on approach on both M42 and A5 southbound.”
