Severe damage to homes and cars on Hebburn road after late night crash with 999 response

Homes and cars in Hebburn have been damaged following a late night crash just before Christmas[1]. Emergency services were called to Hall Road at around 11pm on Friday, December 22 to reports of a collision. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service[2] confirmed that crews from South Shields[3] and Hebburn fire stations received a report of a crash involving one vehicle which hit a parked car.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 11pm and left at midnight. Northumbria Police[4] officers and paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service were also called to the incident but no one was injured. Photos taken on Hall Road the morning after the crash (December 23) show extensive damage to the exterior of several properties, as well as a road safety barrier and traffic lights.

A North East Ambulance Service[5] spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of Hall Road and Canning Street in Hebburn shortly after 11pm on December 22.

“We dispatched one crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team, who was stood down by the police on scene.”

Northumbria Police has been contacted for comment.
