A 36-year-old passenger from the same car, who was airlifted to the hospital, is in serious but stable condition, police said Thursday.
The crash happened at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Alden Nash Avenue and Emery Drive in Lowell Township. First-responders blocked off the area of the crash for more than three hours while investigating and clearing the scene.
Preliminary investigation showed that a white Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Alden Nash when it crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and struck an oncoming black Buick Encore.

Fegel and Garza, who were in the Chevrolet, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Police later said lack of seatbelt usage may have been a factor in the crash fatalities.
The driver of the Buick, a 20-year-old Greenville woman, was also transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Fegel was from Belding and Garza was from Lowell, police said.
A GoFundMe[4] donation page has been created to support the families of the two sisters, who were described as "pillars of love, joy, and kindness in life." Over £7,500 has been raised for the family as of early Saturday afternoon.
