Southampton white van driver arrested after police assault
The arrest happened after police were called to Redbridge Hill on Wednesday evening due to reports of a crash. A police spokesperson explained what happened. They said: “We were called at 7.17pm to a report of a collision on Redbridge Hill.
“This involved a white Ford Transit van and a white Vauxhall Mokka. Minor injuries were reported. “Police attended and the driver of the Transit tried to assault an officer.
“A 32-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and assault of an emergency worker.
“He remains in custody.”
