‘Speeding’ Audi RS3 driver hurt after crashing into tree on Birmingham road

A man was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after an Audi RS3 crashed into a tree in Birmingham. Police say the ‘speeding’ sports car came off Stratford Road, close to the Mughal e Azam Restaurant, at around 3pm on Wednesday, November 29. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was treated for potentially serious injuries before taking him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital[1] for further treatment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police[2] took to X, formally known as Twitter, to reveal he was ‘lucky’ and urged motorists to ‘slow down’.

The force’s traffic unit said: “Emergency services were all sent to Stratford Road yesterday… This is the unfortunate scene of speeding and not wearing a seat belt!!

Luckily no serious injuries but please see this as a reminder to slow down!!” A West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on Stratford Road in Hall Green[6], Birmingham just before 3pm yesterday (Wednesday). An ambulance, two paramedic officers and the West Midlands CARE Team were sent to the scene whilst a Community First Responder was also in attendance.

“On arrival, crews discovered one car had crashed into a tree.

The driver, a man, was found outside of the vehicle and ambulance staff treated him for potentially serious injuries before conveying him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital[7] in Birmingham for further treatment.”
