Speeding driver jailed after ‘movie stunt’ crash in Warwickshire village
A DRIVER was travelling at 84mph through Wellesbourne when he lost control of his car which was propelled into the air, smashing through a garage and into a garden. Tadiwanashe Everjoy Matemadombo, 24, hit the middle of a roundabout. His black Astra passed over a parked car, went through a brick-built garage and over the garden behind it into an adjacent residential garden where the car landed on its side.

The crash, which was described as similar to a stunt in a movie, took place at 3.30am on 4th July 2021 on the A429 at the junction with Bradley Walk.
Matemadombo, who was driving with two female passengers in the car after leaving a party in Ettington, was calculated to be speeding at 84mph in a 40mph zone. His two passengers, both now aged 24, suffered serious injuries. The front seat passenger managed to get herself out of the car, the rear seat passenger was unconscious and was rescued by police.
When officers arrived at the scene, they also found Matemadombo, of Gun Lane, Coventry, still in the vehicle.
All three were taken to hospital. Last Wednesday (13th December) he was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment, banned from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay a GBP156 victim surcharge after appearing at Warwick Crown Court charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

PC Drew Ballantyne said: “The standard of Matemadombo’s driving fell far below that of a reasonable and competent driver – it was dangerous. “He had no consideration for his passengers or the public.
“After he left hospital officers were unable to locate Matemadombo for some time. I am pleased that he has now faced the court where he pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. “We hope the two female passengers take some comfort from the sentence.”
