Stapleford incident prompts call for hazard response team and firefighters to assist paramedics

Emergency services – including a hazardous response unit – are dealing with an incident in Stapleford[1] this afternoon (Tuesday). Two paramedics and East Midlands Ambulance Service’s (EMAS[2]) Hazardous Response team were called to Pasture Road, Stapleford at around 11.34am on Tuesday, December 12. An EMAS spokesman said the incident was at a “private address”. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] confirmed firefighters from Highfields Fire Station attended the incident to “assist the ambulance service”.

The EMAS spokesman said: “We received a call at 11.34am on 12 December to a private address in Stapleford. The caller reported a medical emergency. “We sent a double-crewed ambulance, two paramedics in solo response cars and the Hazardous Response Team.

We are currently still on scene.” The fire service[4] added that it was supported by firefighters from Derbyshire at the scene. A spokeswoman said fire crews were called to assist the ambulance service at 12.38pm.

The EMAS spokesman said paramedics remained at the scene as of 2pm on Tuesday, December 12.

The exact nature of the incident has not been released.
