Stockton crash: Pedestrian hit by van near mail depot hospitalised

Emergency services were alerted following a collision near the Royal Mail depot, in Stockton, shortly before 5pm. Police converged on the junction of Durham Road and Orde Wingate Road, Stockton, where they closed off the road.The Northern Echo: Paramedics treated the patient at the scene.

Several Royal Mail vans were seen parked up as they could not get into the depot, while vans were also prevented from leaving because of the road closure. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:48pm to a road traffic incident between a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Durham Road and Orde Wingate Road, Stockton.

“We dispatched a clinical team leader and a double crewed ambulance and one person was taken to North Tees Hospital.”The Northern Echo:
