Teen boys ‘thrown from motorbike’ during crash with OAP’s Renault
Two teenagers were thrown from a motorbike during a crash. Police and paramedics were called to Oxford Road, in Hartlepool,[1] when a motorbike travelling up the road towards Catcote Road collided with a Renault Capture. The smash happened as the driver pulled out of Heathfield Drive, at 4.20pm on Friday.
The two 18-year-old boys on the motorbike were thrown from the vehicle, with one getting back up and fleeing the scene on foot, Cleveland Police say. The other teen suffered a broken leg, and was taken to James Cook University Hospital[2], in Middlesbrough[3], by ambulance.

The driver of the Renault, an 84-year-old, was unhurt. Cleveland Police[6] has now issued an appeal for witnesses. A force spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for camera footage following a Hartlepool[7] collision which left a motorcyclist with broken leg.
The incident happened on Oxford Road in Hartlepool at 4:20pm on Friday 22nd December, when a motorbike travelling up Oxford Road towards Catcote Road, collided with a Renault Capture as the driver pulled out of Heathfield Drive. “Both of the 18-year-old boys on the motorbike were thrown from the bike. One got back up and fled the scene on foot, and the other sustained a broken leg.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance. “The 84-year-old driver of the Renault was unhurt. Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage, or CCTV to contact police on 101.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic collision today (22 December) at 16:17. We dispatched three ambulance crews, one clinical team leader and one doctor. One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital.”
