Tesla and Mitsubishi crash on Hempstead Road, Watford

The incident took place at around 12.46pm today (December 8) on Hempstead Road, near the junction for the A41. Road closures were put in place while the police, ambulance and fire service attended the scene. LIVE UPDATES: Crash closes major Watford road[1]

The female Mitsubishi driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital by a family member. The East of England Ambulance Service have since confirmed that two patients were transported to Watford General Hospital. A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Road closures were put in place while the emergency services, including the ambulance and fire service, arrived at the scene.

"A woman, who was driving the Mitsubishi, sustained minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment." A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service added: "Two fire engines, from Watford and Garston fire stations were sent to the scene, where crews found two cars that had collided on the road. "One person was trapped in a vehicle that was on its side, and two other people were trapped in a second vehicle.

"Firefighters used cutting equipment to safely release the occupants of the vehicles, who were treated by the ambulance service."

Lastly, a spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service commented: "Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.

"Two patients were transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
