Troopers Arrest Greenwood Man for Felony DUI

The Delaware State Police arrested 50-year-old Sean Haynes of Greenwood, Delaware for felony DUI following a traffic stop in Seaford on Saturday evening. On December 2, 2023, at approximately 8:10 p.m., a trooper on patrol was traveling northbound on Sussex Highway in the area of Old Furnace Road. The driver continued to move slowly in the shoulder of Sussex Highway in the area of Cannon Road before coming to a complete stop.

The trooper contacted the driver, identified as Sean Haynes, and saw signs of impairment. Haynes was taken into custody after completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Computer check showed Haynes had four prior DUI-related convictions.

Haynes was transported to Troop 5, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • 5th Offense DUI (Felony)
  • Traffic Offenses

Haynes was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a £4150 secured bond.
