Two brothers arrested for threatening residents with pistol

Times News NetworkLudhiana: Sarabha Nagar police arrested two brothers for threatening residents who had caught a snatcher, asking them to set him free. He said that he would open fire at them if they did not do as told.While the miscreant, Jatinder Singh alias Kaali managed to escape, police arrested the brothers, Gurdeep Singh alias Vicky and Harpreet Singh alias Ricky, residents of Guru Nanak Nagar, Mandi Mullanpur.Police also seized an illegal pistol with seven live cartridges from their possession.Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) – III Sameer Verma said that a few residents nabbed Jatinder Singh while he was executing a snatching. Later, Gurdeep and Harpreet turned up at the spot and threatened the residents to let Jatinder go, which the residents refused.

At this, the accused took out a pistol and threatened to open fire at the people. All three accused managed to escape after snatching Rs 6,500 cash from a resident. Police registered a case against the three on charges of snatching, criminal conspiracy, beating up people and Arms Act.
