Two changes as Aston Villa team news vs Burnley confirmed

Aston Villa[1] head coach Unai Emery[2] has named his starting XI to face Burnley[3] at Villa Park[4] this afternoon. He has made two changes to the side which lost 3-2 at Manchester United. In comes Alex Moreno for Lucas Digne – who faces a month out after sustaining a hamstring injury – and Moussa Diaby for Leander Dendoncker.

Villa’s ten-match unbeaten league run ended on Boxing Day at Old Trafford, but they have only dropped two points at home in their last 16 league matches in a run spanning back to March. Villa have also won 25 Premier League games in 2023, their best in a calendar year in the club’s history.

From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Ezri Konsa, Diego Carlos, Clement Lenglet and Moreno. Douglas Luiz starts in the double pivot alongside John McGinn. Jacob Ramsey will operate from the left and Leon Bailey from the right as Moussa Diaby supports Ollie Watkins in attack.
