Two children injured in A1(M) crash near Boroughbridge

Emergency services were called to an incident on the major A-road near Boroughbridge at around 10.30am, following reports of a one-vehicle collision. After arriving on the scene, police, fire crews and paramedics found a car that had left the carriageway. While all of the people involved in the single-vehicle crash were out of the car, fire crews have since confirmed that paramedics checked over two children who were in the car for head and neck injuries.

The two adults that were travelling in the car were uninjured during the incident. A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews from Knaresborough, Boroughbridge and Wetherby responded to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision, where the vehicle left the carriageway and came to rest on the embankment.

“All occupants were out of the vehicle on arrival of the fire service.

Paramedics provided checks on the scene to two children for head and neck injuries.

Two adults were uninjured.”
