Two drivers in hospital after crash which closed main road for hours

Two drivers have been taken to hospital after an early morning crash in Pembrokeshire. The collision happened shortly before 7am on Thursday morning on Freeman’s Way – a carriageway on the outskirts of Haverfordwest town centre. Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed off in both directions for almost four hours.

The crash involved two SUV vehicles, with police confirming that both drivers were taken to hospital. The road reopened at around 10.45am on Thursday, but there remained a heavy build-up of traffic on the road up until lunchtime. The extent of their injuries are not known at this stage. A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We were called at 6.55am this morning (Thursday, December 14), to a report of a road traffic collision on Freeman’ss Way, Haverfordwest. The vehicles involved were a black Nissan Juke and a silver Nissan Qashqai. Both drivers were taken to hospital.

The road was closed and reopened at about 10.45am.”
