Two arrested after no entry road turn. (Image: Hampshire and IW Constabulary) A driver and passenger have been arrested on drugs offences after a vehicle was spotted turning a no entry road, police on the Isle of Wight have said. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary[1] detained two people on Monkton Street, Ryde, last night (Wednesday).

Police said officers saw a car turning into a no entry road. They spoke to an 18-year-old driver, who was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, following roadside drug wipes/breath tests. A 24-year-old male passenger was searched and police seized a quantity of suspected Class A drugs.

A search of a nearby property also led to police seizing further drugs and paraphernalia.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Both men have since been released from custody but remain under investigation.
