Two men escape Derbyshire prison: Police warn public not to approach pair who were serving accumulative 11-year sentence when they left open facility

Police have warned the public to not approach two men who escaped from prison who were serving an accumulative 11-year sentence when they left.

Benjamin Pownall and Jack Humphries left the open[2] prison at around 5.15pm on Wednesday, and police believe the pair escaped in a vehicle.

Pownall, 27 and Humphries, 28, absconded from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire and are believed to have travelled into Staffordshire.

Serving a four-year four-month sentence, Pownall was in for robbery, weapons and driving offences.

Humphries had been jailed for seven years and two months for drug offences.

Derbyshire Police said: ‘Both have links to the Stoke area and the public are advised not to approach them.

‘Instead anyone who has information about their whereabouts is asked to contact Derbyshire police’.
