Two teenagers, 15 and 18, die in three-vehicle crash in Northumberland
Two teenagers have died and two more people remain in hospital after three vehicles collided in Northumberland[1]. Connor Lapworth, 18, and 15-year-old Corey Mavin, both from Blyth, have been confirmed dead after the three-car crash. The pair were in a Suzuki Vitara when it collided with two other cars – a Range Rover Evoque and a Ford Focus.
The cars crashed on the A192 Hartford Bank in Cramlington on Friday evening. A 41-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, who were also in the Suzuki, were rushed to hospital[2] with serious injuries. The 36-year-old female driver of the Range Rover suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while a 52-year-old woman, who was driving the Ford Focus, was uninjured.

Northumbria Police said the reasons behind the collision are “yet to be established” and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Russell Surrey said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are firmly with the family and loved ones of the two young people who have sadly lost their lives and those who have suffered injuries in this collision. “We will offer them all of the support they need and ask that their privacy is respected at this time.” He added: “We are asking that anyone who may have seen the moments leading up to the collision or have information regarding the three vehicles involved being driven in the area to contact us immediately.”
It comes as a woman and teenager have died, and another child has been seriously injured in a separate crash[3] between two vehicles in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Officers were called to reports of a collision in Ripponden Road at around 4pm on Saturday. Greater Manchester police said a 42-year-old woman and a 15-year-old child travelling in one of the vehicles died at the scene.
A 13-year-old child also suffered serious injuries travelling in the same car and was taken to hospital.
Police said a 35-year-old driver, the sole occupant of the second vehicle, was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
