Two-vehicle crash results in closure of A985 at Limekilns

Emergency services raced to the scene after the two-vehicle crash on the A985 near Limekilns shortly before 7am. The route was closed for several hours while crews dealt with the incident which also resulted in a 54 year-old woman being checked over at the scene by medics. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50am on Tuesday, 5 December, 2023, police were called to the A985 at the B9156, near Dunfermline, following a report of a two-vehicle crash.

“Emergency services attended and a 71-year-old man was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. A 54-year-old woman was checked at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service. “The road has reopened.

“Enquiries are ongoing.” Providing an update on Twitter/X just after 8.30am, Traffic Scotland stated: “The #A985 remains CLOSED in both directions due to a serious collision near to Limekilns. “Police and Fire Services are still on scene.
