Two young kids fight for their lives after out-of-control pickup crashes into their vehicle
SAN ANTONIO – Two young kids are in critical condition after the car they were riding in was rear-ended by an out-of-control pickup truck. The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Tuesday along Walzem Road near Austin Highway on the Northeast Side.
The children, ages 7 and 6, were in a sedan that was stopped at the intersection when a red pickup truck crashed into the back of their vehicle. The impact forced the sedan to crash into another car that was stopped at the intersection. The children were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The female driving the sedan was uninjured. Police said that the driver of the pickup may have been experiencing a medical episode at the time of the accident. No word on their condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
