UPDATE: Crash in Seaford claims life of 88-year-old Laurel man

SEAFORD, Del. – An investigation is underway following a crash that claimed the life of a Laurel man Sunday evening. At around 9:15 p.m., police say a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan was stopped on the right shoulder of Sussex Highway, south of Ockles Road, when the 88-year-old reportedly got out of the van and was in the right southbound lane of Sussex Highway. The man, who was not wearing or carrying any type of reflective clothing, was hit by a 2005 Lincoln Town Car.
The 88-year-old Laurel man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The driver of the Lincoln, a 68-year-old Delmar man, was not injured.
