Van and pedestrian involved in crash at entry to Stockton industrial estate

A van and pedestrian have been involved in a crash at the entry road to a Stockton[1] industrial estate. Emergency services were called to Orde Wingate Way, just off Durham Road[2], following a collision on Wednesday around 5pm. The road was closed off by police, with an image from the scene showing cones blocking off access to motorists.

The North East Ambulance Service[3] confirmed it sent a clinical team leader and a double-crewed ambulance to the scene, which is located near the Royal Mail sorting depot. It is not yet known if anyone has been taken to hospital, and ambulance crews remained on scene at 7pm.

• While AA Traffic News and Inrix did not report the incident, they both noted some slow traffic along Durham Road at the time. One social media report suggested that they were stuck in traffic for 45 minutes following the collision.

  A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:48pm to a road traffic incident between a van and a pedestrian. We have dispatched a clinical team leader and a double crewed ambulance. We’re currently still on the scene.”
