Victim’s anger after US soldier flees UK

A British nurse seriously injured when she was involved in a car crash with a US serviceman has called his excuse for "fleeing" the country "bullshit".

Elizabeth Donowho, 56, who broke both ankles and was unable to walk for six weeks, said she did not believe that Issac Calderon, 22, had returned to his home country to seek medical treatment, and demanded he face justice in the UK.

Calderon, who police believed was working with US intelligence, flew home to Texas days before he was due to appear in court accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
