Village road near Bradgate Park closed due to crash

A village road near Bradgate Park was closed due to a crash this morning. Newtown Linford Lane was shut in both directions from Main Street to the A50 in the village. Leicestershire Police was called to the scene at around 7.52am where two cars had collided.

The closure affected traffic on the A50 during the morning rush hour, causing delays in the area. Officers urged drivers to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with. A spokesperson for the force said no injuries were reported and the ambulance service did not attend.

Both cars were recovered from the scene at around 9.50am and the road opened shortly after.
