‘Wall of snow’ heading for Leeds as weather maps show exact time it will hit

Weather maps have predicted that a ‘wall of snow’ is going to cover much of Yorkshire this weekend – and yes, that includes Leeds, so get your sledges at the ready. Leeds is currently included in Yorkshire’s yellow weather warning[1] for snow and ice which is in place from 6pm tonight (December 2) until 12 noon tomorrow. According to WXCharts, snow will come in from the west, passing over Liverpool and Manchester before arriving in Leeds tonight, with up to 2cm of snow expected per hour.

The snow front is expected to arrive in Leeds at 9pm and continue through to Sunday morning, covering South, West, East and parts of North Yorkshire.Snowfall will be at its heaviest this evening and overnight with persistent snow expected to fall at around 3am on Sunday. So if you’re thinking about dusting off your sledge – tomorrow morning might be the best time for it.

Snowfall will stop throughout most of Sunday in Leeds but is expected to return at around 6pm and continue until at least 9pm. WXCharts also shows temperatures of around 0C to -1C across much of Yorkshire tonight (December 3), including Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield and Huddersfield, when the majority of the snow will hit Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire will be colder, with temperatures of around -2C in some areas.

Throughout Sunday, the temperature will increase, reaching above zero towards midday and into the afternoon. The evening will see temperatures drop below zero once again in Leeds, York, Huddersfield and Sheffield.
